We have had a lovely week taking part in activities relating to the film “Frozen.” We have talked about how ice is made and tried picking up and counting ice cubes using tweezers as well as building up our muscles trying to break up a big block of ice. We watched a clip from the film when Olaf dreams about living in a sunny place and talked about why this wouldn’t be possible.
We have also enjoyed lots of singing and listened to songs from the film in Japanese and Spanish as well as English. The children have practised their phonics making shopping lists for parties and thinking about who they would invite to a “Frozen” party.
We started the week by taking a winter’s walk in the school grounds and the woods looking at the changes from autumn and how some trees have lost their leaves and some haven’t.
In story time we visited the reception classroom and had a story from one of the reception staff. On Tuesday Mrs Stocks came to read a favourite story to us.
We finished the week by making some sandwiches. We chose which filling we would like and had a go at spreading the butter and filling.
Here are some of the other things we have done this week.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend
