Welcome and Winter

The children have all settled well back into the Nursery routine. We would like to begin by welcoming all the new children to our Nursery. We are so glad you have joined our class. We look forward to learning and playing with you all.

The last two weeks we have focused our learning around the theme of Winter. We were so excited when it snowed and the children enjoyed the opportunity to go outside while the snow was falling. The children had a fantastic time and some were trying to catch snowflakes while others gathered the snow together in their hands.

We have read a few fantastic stories about winter and we have learnt about the winter animals through these story. Some children might start talking about how animals hibernate or migrate in the winter!

We explored  what happens to water when it gets cold and have had the opportunity to play with ice. We have played with coloured ice, ice with animals frozen in it and we have even tried to paint with frozen ice cube paint!

We played with small world winter creatures in the snow (white rice). This was a popular activity!
The children used white circle stickers to make snowmen while others painted snow scenes on black paper.

Here are a few other photos of what we have enjoyed doing....

Please could you remember to bring in your baking money of £6 (£3 per term).

Please note: There is a meeting for the parents of the children who started in January. It will be an opportunity for you to learn a bit more about what we do in Nursery and a chance for you to ask questions about the morning at school. The meeting will be on Friday 3 February at 11:30am.
