People Who Help Us

We have had a very exciting couple of weeks in Nursery as we have welcomed many visitors who have told us all about their jobs.  In the week before half term we had a visit from our road crossing patrol. She told us all about why she has a special coat and sign and we all had a go at crossing the road safely.

Afterwards we made our own signs. We also enjoyed dressing up and helping our friends cross the road in the outdoor area.

We enjoyed making some little pizzas that  looked like a stop sign!

We also have had a visit from a police man. He told us about some of  the things he does and showed us some special things about his Police Car. Some of us had a a turn at sitting in the car.

On Wednesday a fire engine arrived in the staff car park. We met some firemen who told us all about their uniform and we had a look at some of the things that a fire engine has to help it put out fires. We also met a special dog called Rex who helps the firemen do their job. A big thank you to Mr Bigland for helping organise this visit.

In maths we have been practising recognising numbers and matching a number with the same quantity of objects. Next week we will be counting steps and jumps and learning how we can record numbers in different ways. We will be thinking about what is one more than a certain number .
Here are a few of the other things we have been doing.

A couple of reminders about what is happening in Nursery next week.
On Thursday it is World Book Day. We will be joining in with the rest of the school in celebrating this day. Your child is welcome to come to Nursery in a simple costume related to a book character.
We look forward to seeing you at the Nursery Assembly on Friday 3rd March. After dropping off your child at nursery please go around to the main school entrance. The assembly will take place in the hall. Everyone is welcome to come and watch.
Mrs de Klerk and I look forward to meeting you at Parent Consultations on Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th March. Please do book an appointment if you have not yet had an opportunity to do so.
Have a lovely weekend
