This week we listened to the story of Dogger. Then we made our own toy stall just like the one in the story. The children have enjoyed shopping for soft toys and food and have been very good customers and shop keepers, using their maths to check that their friends have paid the right amount of money and working out when to give some change.
In PE we have been working on our jumping and hopping. We have learned how to jump in different ways and how to jump off the bench and land safely.
In RE we started our new topic of celebrations with a party. We had a little picnic together and played some party games.
Later in the week we made some cakes and following that, many of us felt inspired to make our own "cakes."
The children have also really enjoyed playing with a lovely new toy that has been donated to Nursery. Thank you Sebby.
Here are a few of the other things we have done over the past two weeks.
It was lovely to see so many of you at the information meeting on Friday. It hasn't been possible to upload the power point so I will ask the office to send it out by parent mail next week.
At the meeting we also recommended taking a look at the publication :"What to expect,When?" Guidance to your child’s learning and development
in the early years foundation stage. We also watched a clip which showed the correct way to pronounce the different letter sounds. Here is the link to the video.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend,
Jill Clarke
