Welcome Back

Welcome back to the summer term. How lovely that we started our summer term with some warm sunny weather. Our theme this half term is water and we began the week by asking the children what they could tell us about water. The answer was lots of things! We have recorded some of the children’s answers and made a display of them in the classroom. Do take a look.

Over the last two weeks the children have taken part in lots of different  activities as they investigated water. This included different art activities; decorating umbrellas, collaging water droplets and mixing different shades of blue as they painted their umbrellas.

We have investigated what things sink and float, found out how many containers it takes to fill different sized bottles and practised counting one more and one less as we sang the rhyme 5 little ducks.

In RE we started a new topic of Good News. We listened to the story of what happened at Pentecost, making a sad face when Jesus left his friends and a happy face when his friends heard that he was going to send them a helper, the Holy Spirit.

In maths we have been practising representing numbers as we played different maths games outside.

Here are a few of the other things we have done over the past two weeks.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend,
Jill Clarke and the Nursery team.
